Experiences is based on past occurance. Unless one has experienced in the past he would not know what it is when ge encounters for the first time. Unless one has tasted sugar earlier, he would not know it is sweet. If one says I have seen whale the listener if had seen a whale earlier would ask what it is. If he had seen earlier he would ask ,’ where , how big’ and similar questions. All sensual experiences are based on past experiences.
With no past experiences one cannot guess the nature, shape of anything. Thuriya state is a once for all state. One who has reached that state cannot or would not go back to jagrat or swapna state. It means that one who is in Jagrat, swapna or sushupti state cannot know the Thuriya state.
Beforehand one cannot have experienced the Turia State. All human experiences are through the karmenthriya’ and Gnanenthriyas. Gurudevan uses the word ‘ akshi’ meaning eyes which is representative of karmenthriya’.
But Sharma’s or Guna viseshas- characteristics like shape, colour, fragrance etc are Guna viseshas of a flower. But flower does not experience these Guna viseshas. These are dharmas of flower. Flower is the Dharmi. Similarly the Athma is Dharmi and all our Gunas or worldly experiences are dharmas. Without the flower the fragrance cannot be experienced. Therefore we should know with certainty that there is A Dharmi – that is Athma. This could be only by assumption. But it is true.
